Frequently you'd like to be able to give different people in your Household different filtering settings.
For example:
- Maybe the adults only want the Security category (phishing, botnets etc) blocked on their devices rather than the categories blocked for the Household under Protection.
- Perhaps there is a preschooler in the Household, but the rest of the children are high school age. So it would make sense to set the Household-wide blocked categories to an acceptable level for the high school kids and then apply stricter protection settings on the preschooler's Person account.
To create custom filtering for a Person account, first go to webprotectme.com/admin/people.
(see also: Adding a Person (user) account)
Then click on the Person account you wish to customize:
And click Custom Protection:
The Person detail will expand to show you all of the available protection settings for the account:
You may notice that the settings look just like the Protection tab. They work the same way too. When you first enable Custom Protection, the initial protection settings will be copied from the Household-wide protection settings.
Just like the Protection tab, changes are saved automatically as you make them. Since the controls here are identical to the Protection tab, please see Customizing protection & blocked sites for details on managing the various protection settings.
